Is the KS1 SATs practice up to date for 2026?
Worth knowing: the Year 2 SATs are no longer compulsory. The Department for Education made end of key stage 1 assessments non-statutory from the 2023 to 2024 school year, so each school chooses whether to use the optional KS1 tests in English reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling, and maths. The Standards and Testing Agency still publishes them and recommends using them during May (May 2027 this school year), and schools no longer have to report the results.
