How A-level Biology is assessed

How to revise efficiently

The biggest trap is mistaking familiarity for knowledge: you read the page on the kidney, it all looks reasonable, then in the exam you cannot actually explain selective reabsorption under pressure. A question you cannot answer is impossible to skim past, which is why topic-by-topic practice works. A sensible routine looks like this:

  1. Start in study mode. Work at your own pace, reading the explanation after each question — even when you got it right, since that is often where the better phrasing hides. Cover every topic at least once.
